ROTARY SNOWPLOW

Most narrow gauge railroads operated in the mountains and often encountered snow in deep drifts. Indeed, almost all railroads needed to remove snow in order to keep the lines open. Most resorted to the famous, self contained, rotary snowplows.
Listen as BigSound™ reproduces the whir and grind of the plow blades combined with the hiss and whistle of the snowplow unit.
You can still see the operation of a steam driven rotary snowplow every springtime on the White Pass & Yukon Route.
